The Lie We’ve All Been Told
I hate to break it to you, but you’ve been lied to. We all have. Unfortunately, most have even
believed this lie from birth to final breath. The scariest part is that most aren’t even aware of the lie. It is simply part of their reality. It was for me.
I was raised believing that if I felt “good” then I must be healthy. If I felt “bad” then I must be
unhealthy. I believed the only time I needed to do something about my health was when I was
symptomatic. Even then I didn’t have to do much. I would just go get a shot or take whatever
prescription was written to get me over the hump. For most of my life I never questioned this process because that is how everyone else viewed health and sickness. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I learned about the lie. The lie that health is about how we feel.
When searching for the truth, I looked at the top two deadly diseases of Americans. Number
one is heart disease and number two is cancer. These two diseases have something in common: You never see them coming. Or in this case, you never feel them coming. Cancer is most commonly found during routine checkups such as mammograms, skin exams, prostate exams, and colonoscopy exams. Many of these patients would tell you that they felt “fine” right up until the doctor told them cancer had been discovered. Patients with heart disease often don’t feel anything up until a heart attack. As a matter of fact, heart disease is nicknamed the silent killer because 60% of those with it won’t survive the first symptom, which is a fatal heart attack.
Hopefully you realize now that how we feel isn’t the best indicator of how healthy we actually
are. If health isn’t based on how we feel, then what is it based on? Function. We call this the F-bomb in our office. Have you ever had your blood pressure checked? Of course you have. What do blood pressure measurements tell us? It tells us the function of your heart. Do you know what controls the function of your heart? Here’s a hint: it controls the function of the entire body. Yes, it is the brain and spinal cord which make up the central nervous system. Do you know how well your nervous system is functioning? 99% of people who come into our office have never had the function of their nervous system assessed. Yet, as we just agreed it controls every single function in the body. This is what we, as a neurologically-based chiropractic corrective office, specialize in.
We use state of the art technology to assess your nervous system and therefore your potential
for maximum health. We then correct those problematic areas which allows your body function at its optimum. By doing this, we treat the cause of your health concerns rather than just treating the
symptoms you have.
Let’s make a deal - If you have never had the function of your nervous system assessed, then give
us a call and we’ll do it for free. I’ll even show you and explain the results to see if there’s something we can help you with.
